November Featured Artists: Bill Origer and Melissa Saylor
Our featured artists for November are Bill Origer and Melissa Saylor. Their show is on display through November 22, with a First Friday reception from 6:00–8:00 p.m. on November 7. The evening will feature live music by local guitarist Billy Lanham.
Bill Origer’s work this month focuses on the beauty of our night sky—featuring the Aurora Borealis, galaxies, nebulae, eclipses, and the occasional comet. He will give a brief talk at 7:00 p.m. during the reception about these celestial wonders and his photographic process.
Melissa Saylor shares this reflection on her work:
“After a trip to Paris, I expected to create a whole show inspired by it. But Paris was so dazzling—its art, its light, its beauty—that I came home creatively overloaded. I tried new things, made plenty of messes, and realized many great artists simply revisited what they loved, again and again. So, this year, my show is a little of this and a little of that—whatever popped into my head. My 10-year-old grandson summed it up best: ‘Very colorful, Bubbie.’ I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it.”

Los artistas destacados de noviembre son Bill Origer y Melissa Saylor. Su exposición estará en exhibición hasta el 22 de noviembre, con una recepción del Primer Viernes de 6:00 a 8:00 p.m. el 7 de noviembre. La velada contará con música en vivo del guitarrista local Billy Lanham.

Melissa Saylor comparte esta reflexión sobre su trabajo:
“Después de un viaje a París, pensé que crearía una exposición inspirada en la ciudad. Pero París fue tan deslumbrante—su arte, su luz, su belleza—que volví con mi mente sobrecargada de creatividad. Probé cosas nuevas, hice muchos experimentos, y entendí que muchos grandes artistas repetían lo que amaban, una y otra vez. Así que este año, mi exposición es un poco de esto y un poco de aquello, lo que se me ocurrió. Mi nieto de 10 años lo describió mejor: ‘Muy colorido, Bubbie.’ Espero que la disfruten tanto como yo al crearla.”
